Old Bridge Public Library Improves Event Attendance
The library needed to increase event attendance for lifestyle- and interest-specific activities. Traditional marketing methods such as e-newsletters, flyers, posters, and other methods weren’t generating their desired numbers.
Patronlink enabled the library marketing manager to use targeted email campaigns with defined demographic and lifestyle interests for events and programs. The library used Patronlink’s DIY email campaign tool to reach library cardholders and non-patrons in their area. At the beginning of the summer, they promoted their summer read program to individuals with children. In Patronlink, they built a list of individuals in their service area who have children ages 3 to 15. They created an HTML email to highlight program information, benefits, and prizes. They also promoted health and wellness programs by targeting people whose lifestyle interests include or are related to health and wellness.
The method was successfully used to attract people to the children’s summer reading program and an adult health and wellness events.
About the Old Bridge Public Library
The Old Bridge Public Library serves patrons in the Old Bridge and Laurence Harbor areas in New Jersey. With roots dating to 1958, the first main library was built in 1966 and municipalized in 1970 to be eligible for city and state funding. The current 43,800-square-foot branch was completed in 1993.

This level of access has proven quite popular with our users, especially the business community. It is a perfect tool in the evolution from print resources to electronic resources.
